Duration: 1 or 2 days depending on the time of the year
The crossing begins by sailing Lake Nahuel Huapi among the mountains, into the heart of the Andes to Puerto Blest. Then a bus carries you 3 Km alongside River Frías to Puerto Alegre, where you board the catamaran "Dalca" or "Caleuche" to sail over the green waters of Lake Frías. Flying condors and the towering heights of Mount Tronador, will make this an unforgettable trip.
At Puerto Frías the customs paperwork is done. Later, it continues by bus through the Andes and the luxuriant vegetation of the Valdivian rainforest to Peulla, the first Chilean settlement, to complete the Chilean customs paperwork in time for lunch.
Then sail over Lake Todos los Santos to Petrohue, from where you travel overland to the Petrohue Falls and finally along the shore of Lake Llanquihue to the town of Puerto Varas, and to the last stop of the Lake Crossing service at Puerto Montt.
